The chief executive officer is seen to have been fighting with the board of directors on the type of strategy that could be implemented to better the DVD product. There was also the issue where there were cases against each other and undermining of each leaderships credibility that led to the failure of the organization. The culture at blockbuster shield away from innovation and embraced the comfort of strategies that had worked for years (Strinham, 2012). The fact that the company was too comfortable with its business model and corporate culture, they failed to adapt and offer adequate competitive measures to counter their competitors. Therefore, the implication here is that use of the corporate culture by Blockbusters did not work out for them as it led to their f ailure. Furthermore, the failure of the organization was caused by poor management skills. The rationale for my perspective is based on the fact that the management team did not propose any changes that would generate positive results for the firm. The organizational and its departments seem to have ignored the signs because they were too busy fighting among themselves (Hitt, Ireland Hoskisson, 2008). Additionally, the firm lacked balance between adaptive and innovative creativity. Therefore, it can be perceived that the management and leadership of the organization were incapable of understanding the implications of the radically different business model. The firm collapsed and were likely to be closed for good because of poor approach in leadership and management.Business the succeeded Netflix is a company that has succeeded based on its culture, leadership, management and their well-organized departments. The company has a culture that emphasizes on performance, freedom and re sponsibility. The culture in question assists the company actually focuses on attaining excellence through practicing integrity, communication, and respect. The company has a well-set leadership and management employees who work as a team, and, hence, the reason they proposed the strategy of eschewing retail locations. The proposal lowered costs, and the firm was able to offer client far greater variety DVDs as opposed to what Blockbuster (Hill Jones, 2012). The company offered its customers subscriptions that made late fees unnecessary. Apparently, Netflix management and leadership approach can be looked at as an updated profession as they valued the needs of clients to get better services. Therefore, the firm proved that they were innovative and succeeded through their threshold model. The threshold model was not easy to use at first because clients had different perceptions about the company, but the influence from other customers created better opportunities for Netflix (Strin ham, 2012). War on Censorship After being assigned a school project, a young high school student walks into the library with plans on researching about his topic before starting. It’s a biology project about the mating rituals of animals, which was a topic that struck his interest. So he boots up the computer, signs in, and starts surfing the web and different search engines for his topic. Every site he clicks on, however, has been blocked. Anything having to do with mating and breeding has been censored by the library as inappropriate material. What if this high school student doesn’t have internet at home? Being unable to look up his material at the library is sure to hinder his research. The definition of inappropriate varies from person to person, community to community, meaning there’s no national meaning to the word that applies to everyone. Is it fair to block something because a few people find it insulting? In Hillsborough High School, this very issue was brought up only it was over the school newspaper not the internet. The principal of the school pulled an article from the newspaper detailing the school’s achievement gap over the years strictly because it might harm the students’ self-esteem (Stein). Was that material appropriate to block just because a few students would find the information hurtful? Censorship is all based on opinions that not everyone might have so it isn’t fair to block everything for the fear of insulting a few. You know, there are so many differences between them. That is to say, people living in cities are different from people living in the city. There are five major differences between city and village (people) lifestyle. I’m going to write social activities or opportunities, people’s behaviour, most common events, safety and getting good education. First of all; there is big advantage of city life than the village life. There are more opportunities in city. There are a lot of facilities for people in the city and they have more opportunities for making money. â€Å" What’s more, many parents want to be able to prepare their children with the best education. So they prefer quality education in the city area. When a person falls ill there are good government and private hospital in the city to get treatment. So people can lead a comfortable and enjoyable life in the city. † On the other hand, people s behavior in city people is often distant and unfriendly. But in village, they are warm-heated and helpful. For example; if your car breaks down while driving in the village, many people stop to help you but in the city, most people do not care. They just drive past you. What s more, unlike people living in the city, they visit someone often and they know each other well. That is to say, they visit someone often and they know almost everything about their lives whereas most people living in the city don’t even know their next door neighbor’s name. The third interesting difference is that; in village, there are not enough shops or stores. Therefore, the salesman is everywhere in village. So street selling is the most common event. Kalafat (2006) states that â€Å" the assortment of the goods that are sold in the streets has reached unbelievable dimensions. From the street vendors carts all sorts of things from car fires to computers and even pianos are sold â€Å" (p:102) However, in city there are a lot of big shop or store so people don’t prefer street selling. Finally, one of the most important advantages of village life is that it is much safer than the city. There are fewer cars than in the city. Therefore, there is no noise of traffic and no accident. What’s more in village, there is no industrial and factorial pollution. That is to say air is clean and fresh so people can grow fruit which is much healthier. Again the same web source gives evidence â€Å"the village has clean air and the environment is very beautiful. The village has less noise and rush. So the pollution is less. The village has not lot of vehicles. So roads are less dangerous for driving cycling. They can get fresh vegetable and fresh fruits. â€Å" To sum up, city has many advantages over village, because city offers modern life facilities are easily available. I think, although the life in the city is more comfortable and modern than village, I like village life than city. Because, i feel relaxed and safe so if I have to choose between village or city life, I will say village life.
